LOAD #4 ~ NSD Plans?

And here we go with Layout A Day #4.  This prompt was all about white space.  Yeah, I said white space!  Not something I am known for.  I love embellishments and rarely leave so much empty space on my layouts but that was the challenge so I went with it.  And actually, I was pretty pleased with the results.

 Supplies
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  Grove, Studio Calico
Mist:  Piglet, Mister Huey Studio Calico
Doilies:  Martha Stewart
Crochet Flowers:  Dear Lizzy American Crafts
Tag:  Date and Place Strips, Elles Studio
Paper Flowers:  Delights by American Crafts
Stickers:  Sassafras
Buttons, Vellum Butterflies, Scallop Tag, Leopard Sticker:  All from May Magpie Club Bits and Bobs Kit
Punches:  Martha Stewart, EK Success, The Paper Studio

Again, I used more embellies from the May Magpie Bits and Bobs kit.  There is just so much in that kit I think I'll be using it for a long time!

Now before you jump to conclusions and report me to the Bad Auntie Bureau for having a favorite among my kiddos, let me attach a close up of the journaling.....then you can let me back in the Awesome Auntie Club!
See what I mean!  I love telling Brooklin she's my favorite because she just glows and gets this huge smile on her face!  We always seem to have so much fun and she is my sidekick whenever she's around!  Then it hit me one day when my sister said something.....she said "She's so much like you....she wants everyone happy and having fun".  You know what, I think she's right!   We are both like that!

So this Saturday is you know what....if you don't know what this Saturday is, let me tell you!  It's National Scrapbook Day!  Yes there is a day devoted to us!   I'm inviting you to come hang out at For The Luv of Art!  We have so many fun games, challenges, tutorials and giveaways planned!  Don't miss it!  I'll be hanging out there most of the day.  I'd love to see you over there!

Hope you're having a great Thursday!  Now off to go work on my layout for today!

I finished my second LOAD layout late last night.  (Sorry for the bad lighting but it was dark when I finished and had to use my flash.)  I had to get it uploaded before midnight so I had no choice but to just go for it!
I am really enjoying this so far although it does add a bit of “pressure” to my day in that I am really pushing myself to stay focused to get that days layout done along with everything else I need to get in my day.  I am just really hoping I can keep it up for the whole month!  Whew, it’s a commitment, I can see that already!
Yesterdays prompt had everything to do with contrast.  Not color contrast (that’s coming later I hear).  But contrast in the form of photos, letters, sizes etc.  I accomplished the contrast aspect by using the large photo in contrast to the two smaller photos.  Also accomplished in the title with using the large alphas with the smaller alphas.
For these LOAD I’m not spending as much time on them as I would my regular layouts but I feel that’s ok because I am learning a lot in the process!  I’ll keep you posted!
Also, wanted to share some new things in the FTLOA store!  Are you ready for some Echo Park goodness?
I think I need this Playground line!  I have lots of pics of my kiddos that this would be perfect for!

Loving this For The Record line!  It’s on my scrap table right now and I can’t wait to dig in and play with it!
And you know what goes great with both lines?  The Mister Huey’s mist from Studio Calico!

I know!  I’m an enabler!  LOL
Hope you’re having a great Tuesday!  We’re having a rainy day here today but that’s ok with me because I had my six month check up post surgery and everything is looking good…now we wait for the lab results like always, just to confirm!  Happy to be living today!!!
Enjoy life!

Magpie Club Kits are back!

I'm so excited to share that the Magpie Club kits have been launched for May! You know I'm a Magpie Club kit fan and have been for quite some time. Well, I was honored to be chosen as one of Magpie Club's Design Team members! YAY!

Magpie Club has just relaunched this May with some great changes. You now have the option of purchasing the Main Kit, which I can say from experience is amazing! I have never been disappointed with Tara's unbelievable kits. They have so much product included and wonderful little bits that you can't find anywhere else.

Then they have also just started a new choice called "Bits and Bobs". This is what I get to play with each month! Tara's bits and bobs she's always included in her kits have always been one of my most favorite things in her kits. Well, now you can get just those little bits of this and that all on their own! How exciting is that?

Here's what you get in this months "Bits and Bobs" kit:

I used the kit to complete my Scrap Tiffany layout for the current challenge to scrapbook about Friendships.  This layout is about my niece and her friend.  I used the awesome sketch provided by Lisa Day at For The Luv of Art weekly challenge.  Talk about killing 3 birds with one stone!  Love when that happens!

And here's my layout I completed using this awesome kit:

Just look at those amazing bits of goodness!  If you have already check out Magpie Club!  One of the absolute best kit clubs in my opinion!

Now I'm off to work on my LOAD project!

Let's go to the hop....FTLOA & Pink Paislee

Welcome to the For The Luv of Art blog hop highlighting Pink Paislee!  You should have arrived from Carrie's blog but if not, you'll want to start from the beginning at the FTLOA blog by clicking here!  Trust me, with giveaways at every stop, you don't want to miss one stop on the hop!

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed working with the Hometown Summer line.  It's right up my scrapbooking alley!  Thought I'd share a few peeks here for you to drool over!
See what I mean?  Isn't it all just the cutest?  I immediately fell in love with it all!  And guess what?  All of this  can be found at the FTLOA store!  And there's even a special discount going on for Pink Paislee...check out the FTLOA blog for the discount code!  But you better grab it quick, because I have a feeling after this hop, it'll be gone!

Since I just love the patterned paper in this line, I made two layouts.  Here they are:

One Year Old!  My niece just had the cutest first birthday party and these papers fit perfectly for her party photos!

Tiny Bubbles ~ What more fun in the summer than blowing bubbles!  My niece Brooklin has the best time with bubbles!

Then I wanted to makeover a bulletin board that I had purchased on clearance recently.  I didn't like the picture that came on it but I bought it anyway knowing I would find a good use for it!  Well I did!  I used the papers and accessories in the Hometown Summer line to do a makeover on it and I love how it turned out.

And then here is my last project:

Now for the best part!  I'm giving away
Hometown Summer Alpha Stickers

AND.....

Hometown Summer Rubber Charms
to one of my lucky visitors!  Just leave a comment telling me what your favorite childhood summer memory is!
I'll randomly choose a winner announce it here on my blog on Monday the 25th!

Scrap Tiffany Blog Hop and Mister Huey!

Even though I couldn’t participate in the blog hop, I wanted to let you know about the Scrap Tiffany blog hop.  It’s lots of great projects and ideas using recycled items!  You must go check it out…..start here!

I also wanted to let you know about some great mists that I have recently fallen IN LOVE with!  That is the Mister Huey mists by Studio Calico.

You have to try them if you haven’t yet.  Trust me, I have every kind of mist there is and I love them all but these mists are my favorite now!

Check out the store at For The Luv of Art because they just added a huge lot to their inventory.  Last time they had them in stock, they sold out in just a day or so……

I’ve still been busy with these little munchins and visiting with my sister but we’re planning on getting scrappy later this evening…..after our trip to Hobby Lobby!!!!!

Have a great Wednesday!

Galoshes???

You all know I've talked about my niece Brooklin.  The funny, quirky little girl who brightens our every day!  She's just the smartest little thing and comes up with stuff that makes us scratch our heads and wonder where in the world she came up with that.

Well that's the case with the subject of this layout I created for For The Luv of Art.
When she was here at Christmas, it had snowed a bit, so I was able to capture her bright yellow boots (um, not boots....GALOSHES!) and I had to do this layout!
When you read the journaling, it will explain more....
Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Best in Show, Pie Contest, (State Fair Collection) , Barn Swallow (Countryside Collection), Studio Calico
Alphas: Sticker Market, Girls Paperie; Mini Alphas, Making Memories; Glitter Letters, Sassafras; Foam Glitter Alphas, American Crafts
Ribbon: FTLOA
Paper Flower: Party Favor Paper Flowers, American Crafts
Other: Kraft label, carnival tickets, graph label, Inspire Lovely (Etsy); Punches, Martha Stewart, EK Success; Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick), Tim Holtz for Ranger, journaling stamp; Tiny Attacher, Tim Holtz
See what I mean?
She's hilarious!
Anyway, I got to use some of the new Studio Calico papers from FTLOA and they are fabulous!  I think the Barn Swallow has been my fav!  You can see I cut it up!  Those little birds?  Um, yeah, fussy cut from the Barn Swallow paper!

So, hope you all have a happy Friday and a great weekend with some fun plans!  We have a fun day out planned tomorrow....hopefully will score some great vintage goodies!  You know I'll share the fun with you here!  Have a great day!

scrI love Tuesdays!  It means we always get a tutorial at Scrap Tiffany!  Today, yours truly, gets to share!

You know how sometimes you need a little something to give a friend, just a quick thank you gift, or a "no-special-reason" gift?  Well today's tutorial is perfect for that!

I'm sharing how to create this adorable little notepad.....

I can't tell you how quick and easy this little project is!  It's perfect for those times when you want just a little something to give!

Head over to Scrap Tiffany and take a peek on how to make it!

A Birthday and an announcement!

Woohoo!  So excited about this news!  It's no secret that I've been a fan for a long time!  I'm so excited to be a Magpie Girl!  Can't wait to get started!  Thanks for the opportunity Tara!

Speaking of girls....
I have a very special birthday girl who turns ONE YEAR OLD today!

Can you believe our little Addi bug is a year old already?  I can't believe it!  She is such a special girl to her Aunt Re Re (they all are!).  I get to see her in about 9 days and I can't wait!  She is so funny and has so much personality!  Addi, you just wait till you get here!  We are going to throw you a big birthday bash where all of your family can be together and your Tennessee friends!  We're all waiting for you!

(This layout was one of my March projects for For The Luv of Art.  I used some of the newest Studio Calico papers which are fabulous!  Head over to the FTLOA store before they sell out!)

Family Ties Album *FLTOA

It's Friday!  Are you ready for the weekend?  Yay!!!
Now if we could just get past this rain and thunderstorms they are calling for, we'd be looking real good!
Gotta love Tennessee in the spring!

Now on to this fun album I created with the Punky Sprouts "Prim and Punky" album.  I made this for the February  work for FTLOA.  Punky Sprouts provided us these awesome albums to work with.  I have to say, this was the first time I used one of their albums and I absolutely loved it!  They are the coolest!  They have chipboard, canvas and acrylic all in one album!  I loved it!

Here's my completed album:  This is extremely photo heavy because it was a big album...I took pictures of the spread and also each page.....

See!  I told you it was a heavy photo post!!!  I had a great time doing this album and loved working with Punky Sprouts albums!  You should try one!

Have a great weekend!
