One Kid, Two Kid Mini ~ Sept Magpie Club Kit

So I realized that I used this same title in a previous post a couple of days ago but did not show the mini. I changed my mind midstream and posted the chocolate cricket layout and forgot to change the title!  Guess that's what I get for trying to post in a hurry!  Sorry about that.....

I did want to share the mini I created with the September Magpie Club Bits and Bobs kit.  If you remember, this one was chock full of cute Dr. Seuss items and other fun bits.

Being that the kit focused on Dr. Seuss, I thought it was fitting to make a mini about my kiddos.  You know I'm crazy head over heels about my nieces and nephews so who better to put in this fun little mini album.

I created the mini from cardstock.  The full size of the mini is about 5x8.  I cut my cover at about 5x5 1/2, trimmed with an edge punch.  Then from that point, I just lined each page up with the cover on the left end and measured which point I wanted the next page so that I would end up with a graduated length for the mini.

I just used a variety of punches on the edges

 Again, here's the cover
All elements used on the cover were from the Bits and Bobs kit with the exception
of the alphas, mist, and ribbon.

Love these kids! These are five of my six kiddos!
(Coco is missing from the top right picture with her siblings...apparently naptime)
Again, everything from the kit except the patterned paper and the
crochet flower.

And here's my Madi...She's the newest addition to my kiddos! She's a hoot and is a little pistol!
She already knows what she wants and is not afraid to fight for it!

And this is my Coco-puff (as she has been nicknamed).  Or Addi-bug...she has a few nicknames.
This little cutie is so full of personality too.  She is also her own little person and is quite the tough little chick...she has to be with three older siblings! Love her like the dickens!

This is my Alex!  This is Madi's older brother.  He is such a handsome young man.
He's the more quiet one of the group.  He loves to have fun and run and play with the boys but he's also so content to just play quietly by himself. He's always so easy going and happy with just about anything!

And then we have my sweet little Brooklin. There is just something about this little girl that gets me!
I always tell her she's my favorite (even though I could never pick a favorite out of my kids)
and I think she believes me!  This little girl is so full of life and finds pleasure in the smallest things that we look over everyday. To her a weed in the grass is a beautiful flower.  She has such a way of looking at things.
Something we could all learn from...

This is Shine (Samantha) and Kameron.  Brother and sister...This is Brooklin and Coco's older siblings.
Shine was my first niece and I have always loved this beautiful girl.  She is so fun and has such a great outlook on life.  She's just started her junior year in high school and has been on cheer competition teams as far back as I can remember. She's got a good head on her shoulders and is very much about family and not so much about partying and messing around like most kids start doing at her age. I'm very proud of her!
And Kameron is our scientist!  We tease him about being a "cool geek"!  He's very smart and is always trying to figure things out.  He excels in school and always has lots of friends. He's very social and athletic! Love him so much too (although he thinks he's getting too big to get kisses from his aunt!)

So, there you have it!  My Magpie Club Bits and Bobs mini album.  I hope you get a good taste of what's in the kit.....I used mostly the kit on the mini with the exception of a few patterned papers and alphas. It's a great kit full of fun product.

I hope I didn't overwhelm you with my blow by blow of each kid but I can't help but feel so blessed when I look at this album.  I know you all feel the same way about yours and you should.  I know I am the most blessed aunt alive when I look at these wonderful kids!  I guess I just felt like sharing a bit about them today because I'm missing them so.  Four of my six kiddos live in California.....like 2000 miles away and I don't get to see them as much as my heart desires (which would be everyday!).  But I love them more than anything!

Thanks for listening to my babbling! And thanks for stopping by today......Getting ready to start doing some major purging in my little studio today so be watching for a big giveaway!

Happy Monday!!!!

Chocolate Cricket Layout ~ Sept Magpie Club B&B kit

I'm loving the new September Magpie Club Bits and Bobs kit.  It's so much fun! The kit is full of Dr. Seuss goodies! Perfect for scrapbooking the kiddos!

Here's a layout I completed using the kit:

See how cute the stuff is?  All the Dr. Seuss items, the blue circular embellishments, the button card with the buttons and the white labels are all part of the kit.

Again...that great button card

And the journaling.....it tells the story behind this photo!
Yes, it's about my nephew eating a chocolate covered cricket!
Yuck!

So, there you have a layout from the kit.  You can still head over to Magpie Club to check out the monthly kit as well as the Bits and Bobs kit for September.

I'll be back tomorrow with a mini album I created using the kit....it's a cutie...you'll want to check back!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Friday!

It's Bits and Bobs again!

It's no secret that I love my Magpie Club!  I wanted to share my projects created from the August Bits and Bobs kit.  Now the August kit is sold out but it will give you an idea of the amazing products that you will receive each month.  Tara is so generous with her kits and it's filled to the brim with little bits that you won't find anywhere else.  I love that part!

The August kit was all about travel and maps and faraway places.  Since I don't really travel, I had to think of a different spin to use all the wonderful pieces of the kit!

First I created a layout about me and my hubby:

Just look at those wonderful maps and little airmail envelopes, cards and more!
So yummy!

I had so much product left over after my layout, I decided I had to do something more because a layout wasn't going to use up that wonderful stuff!  So I decided to create a mini-album.  Again, I'm not a world traveler so I had to think of something else.  I decided to create a mini about all the wonderful places hubby and I dream of visiting!  It was so much fun and I have to say, putting it down on paper made me realize how we need to work even harder towards those goals and it made me want it even more!

So here's my mini:

I love how it turned out!  The kit was amazing!  This mini was created using mostly the Bits and Bobs kit, with the exception of alphas, transparency and some tags.  I loved everything in the kit and am so thankful that I get to play with it each month!

August kit may be gone, but you can watch for the September kit being posted at Magpie Club in just the next few days!

Moving!!!

Sorry I've been out of the loop a bit but as you can see from the photos below I am up to my ears in moving boxes and packing tape!  Yes, we are moving....less than a week now and I'm trying to get everything ready. I've got some design team projects I'm trying to wrap up for the month before I have to pack up my scrap supplies!

I had to give up my LOAD process which I am totally bummed about.  I was so enjoying the process and was actually keeping up with it.  But with the move coming, I just couldn't commit to that along with packing.  Especially considering my supplies are going in boxes soon!  But I enjoyed it so much I'm considering taking Lain's Mother LOAD class at BPS this summer.  I really enjoyed the process and it really helped me learn a lot about my style and preferences.

Here's a layout I completed for LOAD using the May Magpie Club Main kit and the Bits and Bobs kit!  I LOVE those kits!  I created this layout for a Scrap Tiffany challenge to create a layout about Guilty Pleasures.

LOAD10 The Good Things

Well, that's it for now!  I'm hoping to pop in a bit here and there but we are winding down quickly here with packing so the computer and everything will be down for a few days until we get set up in our new home!   This move is a good thing and we are very excited!  I'll have a much bigger scrap space!  Isn't that the most important thing?  LOL

Have a great weekend!

LOAD #4 ~ NSD Plans?

And here we go with Layout A Day #4.  This prompt was all about white space.  Yeah, I said white space!  Not something I am known for.  I love embellishments and rarely leave so much empty space on my layouts but that was the challenge so I went with it.  And actually, I was pretty pleased with the results.

 Supplies
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  Grove, Studio Calico
Mist:  Piglet, Mister Huey Studio Calico
Doilies:  Martha Stewart
Crochet Flowers:  Dear Lizzy American Crafts
Tag:  Date and Place Strips, Elles Studio
Paper Flowers:  Delights by American Crafts
Stickers:  Sassafras
Buttons, Vellum Butterflies, Scallop Tag, Leopard Sticker:  All from May Magpie Club Bits and Bobs Kit
Punches:  Martha Stewart, EK Success, The Paper Studio

Again, I used more embellies from the May Magpie Bits and Bobs kit.  There is just so much in that kit I think I'll be using it for a long time!

Now before you jump to conclusions and report me to the Bad Auntie Bureau for having a favorite among my kiddos, let me attach a close up of the journaling.....then you can let me back in the Awesome Auntie Club!
See what I mean!  I love telling Brooklin she's my favorite because she just glows and gets this huge smile on her face!  We always seem to have so much fun and she is my sidekick whenever she's around!  Then it hit me one day when my sister said something.....she said "She's so much like you....she wants everyone happy and having fun".  You know what, I think she's right!   We are both like that!

So this Saturday is you know what....if you don't know what this Saturday is, let me tell you!  It's National Scrapbook Day!  Yes there is a day devoted to us!   I'm inviting you to come hang out at For The Luv of Art!  We have so many fun games, challenges, tutorials and giveaways planned!  Don't miss it!  I'll be hanging out there most of the day.  I'd love to see you over there!

Hope you're having a great Thursday!  Now off to go work on my layout for today!

Magpie Bits and Bobs ~ LOAD #3

Here we go!!!  Here is my Layout A Day for day 3 which was yesterday.  I didn't get it completed until last night but was able to get it uploaded into the gallery before the deadline!  Whew!  Too close for comfort!  Already working on todays, so I should be good!

Here's Day 3 layout:  The focus on this layout was Emphasis....placing emphasis on your layout.  I accomplished that by using the color photo in the center with the other photos in black and white.  That places emphasis on the center photo.  Also having it in the center with everything around it tends to draw the eye into it too.  See what you think!
Supplies Used:
Kraft Cardstock
Zebra Vellum, striped patterned paper, buttons, trims, sequins, paper clip, dictionary papers, brads, felt flower, scalloped kraft journaling spot, all from May Magpie Bits and Bobs kit
Alphas:  Thickers by American Crafts
Tags:  Handmade Layers Tiny Tags, Elles Studio
Leaves:  Hometown Summer, Pink Paislee
Mist:  White Mister Huey's, Studio Calico

I actually did an 8 1/2 x 11 layout!  I haven't done one of those in years but I have to say I enjoyed it.  I'm going to be mixing my layouts more.  I just love how the mixture of sizes looks in the photo albums.

Here's some close ups of those wonderful bits and bobs!
Just look at the gorgeous little bits in this kit!  Makes my heart pitter patter!
The flower was made from a sheet of book paper that was included in the kit.
That cute little leopard print paper clip was included in the kit!  I know!!!  How cute is that?

See those gorgeous trims?  See that beautiful zebra vellum?
Yep!  In the kit!

Here's that gorgeous vellum paper again.  I just punched it with my doily shape then added one of the gorgeous buttons from the kit!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, just go take a look at the Bits and Bobs kit from Magpie!  They are amazing and you won't find a better deal on all the little pieces of goodness that added to your layout are like the cherry on top of your favorite cupcake!

Have a great Wednesday!

Magpie Club Kits are back!

I'm so excited to share that the Magpie Club kits have been launched for May! You know I'm a Magpie Club kit fan and have been for quite some time. Well, I was honored to be chosen as one of Magpie Club's Design Team members! YAY!

Magpie Club has just relaunched this May with some great changes. You now have the option of purchasing the Main Kit, which I can say from experience is amazing! I have never been disappointed with Tara's unbelievable kits. They have so much product included and wonderful little bits that you can't find anywhere else.

Then they have also just started a new choice called "Bits and Bobs". This is what I get to play with each month! Tara's bits and bobs she's always included in her kits have always been one of my most favorite things in her kits. Well, now you can get just those little bits of this and that all on their own! How exciting is that?

Here's what you get in this months "Bits and Bobs" kit:

I used the kit to complete my Scrap Tiffany layout for the current challenge to scrapbook about Friendships.  This layout is about my niece and her friend.  I used the awesome sketch provided by Lisa Day at For The Luv of Art weekly challenge.  Talk about killing 3 birds with one stone!  Love when that happens!

And here's my layout I completed using this awesome kit:

Just look at those amazing bits of goodness!  If you have already check out Magpie Club!  One of the absolute best kit clubs in my opinion!

Now I'm off to work on my LOAD project!

A Birthday and an announcement!

Woohoo!  So excited about this news!  It's no secret that I've been a fan for a long time!  I'm so excited to be a Magpie Girl!  Can't wait to get started!  Thanks for the opportunity Tara!

Speaking of girls....
I have a very special birthday girl who turns ONE YEAR OLD today!

Can you believe our little Addi bug is a year old already?  I can't believe it!  She is such a special girl to her Aunt Re Re (they all are!).  I get to see her in about 9 days and I can't wait!  She is so funny and has so much personality!  Addi, you just wait till you get here!  We are going to throw you a big birthday bash where all of your family can be together and your Tennessee friends!  We're all waiting for you!

(This layout was one of my March projects for For The Luv of Art.  I used some of the newest Studio Calico papers which are fabulous!  Head over to the FTLOA store before they sell out!)

Have a great Monday!

Scrap Tiffany Challenge with Magpie Sketch

This week's challenge is posted at Scrap Tiffany! I love this one too. The challenge is simple....create using black and white photos! Yeah! I love using black and white photos. To me, there are some some pictures that scream black and white! I love how using a black and white photo cuts out the distracting colors and backgrounds to just focus on the person in the photo.

I created my layout using this month's sketch from Magpie Club. Julie Bonner did an awesome job with this one. I love using the Magpie Club sketches!
Here is my layout based on the sketch:

Patterned Paper: Cabbage Rose (yellow gingham), Vintage Patchwork (patchwork pieces), Shabby Flower (pink floral), Newsprint Stripe (pink text strip), Paisley (green polka dot), Die Cut Wallpaper (pink floral die-cut paper) all from The Girls Paperie
Alphas and word stickers: Sticker Market, The Girls Paperie
Flowers, butterfly, rhinestone flower centers: Prima
Paint: Poinsetta Pink, Shimmerz Paints
Other: pearls, trim, pink organza fabric.

I have so many beautiful photos of my new niece, Adoration, that I haven't yet scrapbooked! I have been taking advantage of the gorgeous Girls Paperie line.... I am in love with that whole line. I haven't found anything I haven't liked! Can't wait to see what Margie's releasing at CHA!

I added a little swag using a string of pearls and pink organza fabric. Love the look of the pearls with the sweet papers and the softness of the organza.

Lately it seems my scrapbooking elements have come from items from the fabric store instead of scrapbooking elements! There are lots of great trims, fabrics and other notions in the fabric section of your stores. Take a peek next time you're there!

The other designers at Scrap Tiffany have some great inspiration on the blog today! I'm amazed at what a talented team we have. Be sure to go check it out here.

Also, be sure to check out Magpie Club's sketch challenge here. You can also get in the fun there too! While you're there, check out Tara's awesome kits. I get them every month and they are amazing!

Have a great Monday!
