"Moments With Mommy" Mini Album

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great Mothers Day weekend. I have a different project to share today.  I wanted to create something special to give my daughter on Mothers Day so I had this thought to create a small album with photos of just her and my grandson, from his birth until present. I wanted to call it "Moments With Mommy".

I used the gold 4x4 WRMK album. It was the perfect size! I used the 4x4 inserts. Some were 4x4 photos and some were the 2x2 photos. I was also able to use my new Fuse tool from WRMK to add additional pages using scrap pieces of page protectors that I had cut apart for my Project Life inserts! Pretty cool if I do say so myself!

Here's a look at the album.....

I have a video share if you're interested. At the end of the video, I share the Fuse tool. Have I said how much I love that little tool? Oh, yeah I guess I did! ;)

Life In Instagram Mini

As I've said before, it's no secret that I love Instagram!  It is my absolute favorite app, hands down! Since my phone has become my primary camera, Instagram was just a natural fit.  I love that I can capture so many more things that I would have missed otherwise and IG is just a way to share those and have fun with them.
I thought I'd create a little mini album using some of my most recent favorite IG photos.  If you follow me on IG, then you've probably seen the photos already but bear with me because the photos in an album are much better!

I created this little gem using all Jillibean Soup papers and bits and pieces of their other product along with some little bits I had floating around my scrap table. What got me started on this little album was seeing the Jillibean Soup Sweet and Sour Bite Size Bits paper. It was sitting there staring at me, with these cute little journaling cards and I had a thought to cut them all up and make an album! They are perfect!

I just added a few extra bits like I said, but mostly all Jillibean Soup. The Instagram flair button is from Finding Nana and I hadn't used it yet so it made the cut!

Again, I just added bits and pieces of doo dads sitting in my doo-dad bowl on my desk...the paper clip, the resin flower, a doily....

I added other bits of Jillibean Soup papers to the background. They all work so well together.

The Insta*love* cut was from the Studio Calico cutting files from a previous month....and no longer available unfortunately!

The card on the right with the quote was part of the Sweet and Sour Bite Size Bits paper

There you go! I hope you enjoyed this little sharing.  Making books are really easy when you have the right product. I just punched and added the coils!

Happy Little Moments *Studio Calico Class

Finally! It's completed!  I enrolled in Maggie Holmes "Happy Little Moments" altered book class at Studio Calico in March and have just now been able to work on it and get it completed.  I ordered the kit to go along with the class which was packed with such yummy goodness! I love the color scheme of the kit and I chose to go strictly with Maggie's design because it just made me happy!  My book ended up being many more pages than she covered in her class but by the time I reached those pages, I was well on my own anyway with my own design and embellishment choices.

As I shared in my last post, my family surprised me with a visit, so that is what my book is about....that surprise visit!  I actually started this project while they were here during our crafting sessions. While everyone else was doing some sewing, I took out this project to focus on.

Love the little confetti pocket sewn on in a glassine bag.
I put a special quote underneath so when you lift up the bag, you see that special quote.

I have never created an altered book before. The thought of cutting sections out of a book scared me honestly.  That's why I love these classes. They really get you out of your comfort zone. I have to say, this has been one of my favorite projects to date! Now that I know how, I'm sure I will be searching for old books to cut apart! (Shhhhh don't tell the book lovers!)

There are lots of bits of paper and embellishments....
layer upon layer of goodness....

Confetti is the craze along with banners and Silhouette cuts...

And the punches through the book pages creating windows with peeks into the next pages....

I love the look of the thread hanging....guess my style is just a bit more messy.

Another one of those windows! Love this idea.

I just love hanging on to bits of paper and scraps for this kind of project. You can really use those pieces up.

I would highly recommend taking a class like this if you feel like you have lost some of your creative mojo. I have been fighting with that for some time now and this really helped get me back in the groove again. I loved the process of this book and love the finished product!

Now, anyone want to come help me clean up this mess?

Happy Monday!
