Moving!!!

Sorry I've been out of the loop a bit but as you can see from the photos below I am up to my ears in moving boxes and packing tape!  Yes, we are moving....less than a week now and I'm trying to get everything ready. I've got some design team projects I'm trying to wrap up for the month before I have to pack up my scrap supplies!

I had to give up my LOAD process which I am totally bummed about.  I was so enjoying the process and was actually keeping up with it.  But with the move coming, I just couldn't commit to that along with packing.  Especially considering my supplies are going in boxes soon!  But I enjoyed it so much I'm considering taking Lain's Mother LOAD class at BPS this summer.  I really enjoyed the process and it really helped me learn a lot about my style and preferences.

Here's a layout I completed for LOAD using the May Magpie Club Main kit and the Bits and Bobs kit!  I LOVE those kits!  I created this layout for a Scrap Tiffany challenge to create a layout about Guilty Pleasures.

LOAD10 The Good Things

Well, that's it for now!  I'm hoping to pop in a bit here and there but we are winding down quickly here with packing so the computer and everything will be down for a few days until we get set up in our new home!   This move is a good thing and we are very excited!  I'll have a much bigger scrap space!  Isn't that the most important thing?  LOL

Have a great weekend!

Magpie Club Kits are back!

I'm so excited to share that the Magpie Club kits have been launched for May! You know I'm a Magpie Club kit fan and have been for quite some time. Well, I was honored to be chosen as one of Magpie Club's Design Team members! YAY!

Magpie Club has just relaunched this May with some great changes. You now have the option of purchasing the Main Kit, which I can say from experience is amazing! I have never been disappointed with Tara's unbelievable kits. They have so much product included and wonderful little bits that you can't find anywhere else.

Then they have also just started a new choice called "Bits and Bobs". This is what I get to play with each month! Tara's bits and bobs she's always included in her kits have always been one of my most favorite things in her kits. Well, now you can get just those little bits of this and that all on their own! How exciting is that?

Here's what you get in this months "Bits and Bobs" kit:

I used the kit to complete my Scrap Tiffany layout for the current challenge to scrapbook about Friendships.  This layout is about my niece and her friend.  I used the awesome sketch provided by Lisa Day at For The Luv of Art weekly challenge.  Talk about killing 3 birds with one stone!  Love when that happens!

And here's my layout I completed using this awesome kit:

Just look at those amazing bits of goodness!  If you have already check out Magpie Club!  One of the absolute best kit clubs in my opinion!

Now I'm off to work on my LOAD project!

She's Got Personality!

Yay! It feels so good to be back in the swing of scrapping again after my crazy last few months! Wedding is over, holidays are done, surgeries are past and I think I can finally get my creative juices flowing again!

I'm so happy to share my Scrap Tiffany challenge layout with you! This week's challenge is all about the gray and yellow! Yep, that's the challenge! Use gray and yellow on your layout/project. I've always loved the look of gray and yellow but when I went to search for what I had on hand to work with, I have to say, I had a hard time. I usually do not grab yellow when I'm shopping! But I managed to find somethings that I think worked together well.

Isn't my little niece, Adoration just the cutest little thing! She definitely lives up to this title! She's a hoot!

Of course, I pulled out some of my adorable felt flowers
from Wendy Hammer Designs! LOVE them!

So, pull out some gray and yellow and see what you can come up with! Email your creation to Tiffany because we want to see too!

Have a great Thursday!

Scrap Tiffany Holiday Blog Hop!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here! You arrived just in time for the Scrap Tiffany Holiday Blog Hop! Thanks for stopping by! If you just landed on my blog, you will definitely want to start from the beginning at the Scrap Tiffany blog so that you don't miss one stop on this amazing journey of Holiday inspiration!

I decided to make some Christmas trees out of magazines and an old paperback book. You could just leave them plain and they look great that way too, but you know me, I always have to add a little bling! I decided to add decorations to mine. (Click on photo to view larger.)

The large tree was created with a magazine and the two smaller trees were from a paperback book already in the donation box! I made the two smaller trees from one book and still have pages left over.

I think the white one is actually my favorite!
I actually sprayed my trees with white spray paint and just a touch of matte silver metallic spray paint. I then sprayed with adhesive and glittered and glittered also adding some glitter stars. Again, you don't have to spray paint, you could just leave plain and they look really cool that way too.

I added a white bird, some tulle, some white feathers and more. I love how silver bead garland looks on the tree.

For the red tree, I just added some more of the berries from the Christmas pics I picked up at Michael's, added a ribbon and some wire with bling!

The black tree was created by just using different sizes of black brads. I didn't have any black balls or berries so I went with what I had. white bird, some tulle, some white feathers and more. I added black tulle at the top, again with wire and some beads.

Ok, so you wanna know how to make them???

It's actually very easy! I'll show you how...

Step 1:
Start with your magazine. Make sure to bend the spine open and break the spine. Something you would normally NEVER do, I know, but it's important for this project!

Step 2:

Begin by folding the page down meeting at the spine to form a triangle.

Step 3:

Fold down again meeting spine to create a necktie shape.

Step 4:
Crease and fold bottom flap hanging over edge of magazine.

Step 5:
Tuck under triangle.

Step 6:
Continue folding through entire magazine.

Step 7:
As you continue, you will start to see the tree taking shape. Continue until the magazine is completely folded and the tree is completed. If you like you can glue the back page to the front page to keep it's shape although it usually isn't necessary.

Step 8:
Once folding is complete and tree is shaped, you can spray paint and glitter if you like. Then just decorate how you choose. I used Christmas picks found on sale at Michael's. You can embellish as much or as little as you like.

I have to say, this definitely got me in the Christmas mood very early. I have been creating with Christmas music and now I'm ready to decorate....might have to wait a bit on that!

Well, you better get hopping on to the next stop, but before you do, make sure you leave me a comment to be entered in the drawing for my giveaway! I have a variety of items I'll be packaging up for the winner! Take a peek at what you can win....
