Life this week...

It's been somewhat of a crazy week here! I've been cleaning out closets and things that we've had in storage way too long! We made the huge move over four years ago and still had some things in storage. Finally decided it was time, we had put it off too long and headed over to get the things gone through. It's amazing what you find you really don't need or care about after not seeing something for that long! Anyway, got that done and it feels much better!

Just to share a few of my favorite Instagram pics from the week....

This little munchkin just cracks me up! I love my Madi girl! She's so full of personality and is a little diva for sure!

Even though this is blurry, I still love it. Here she is peeking under the chair at me!

Alex was looking too cool with his new guitar! So proud of him. He saved his money and paid for it himself! Now if we could just work on that haircut! LOL

Fall decorating has begun! I love this time of year. It is one of my favorite times of the year....second only to Christmas!

The candy bowl is out and ready to be filled! I love having it ready when the kids come to visit!

And add a few shiny golden pumpkins and you're good!

Found some of these when we were going through the things in storage! Remember these?

And my collection of Starbucks mugs! Unpacked these from storage. Forgot they were even in there! I already have a cabinet full of coffee cups that I replaced after we moved!

And this was a wonderful morning! Reading and studying by the open door with my coffee, enjoying our new cooler weather!

And my Max boy....he loves sitting by the door and enjoying the fresh air. He also loves it because we have a pre-school nearby and he can hear the kids playing outside!

Ahhhh....life is good!

Just Peachy

I've been wanting to scrapbook these pictures of my adorable niece helping my mom making peach jam this summer. She loves peach jam and looks forward to having her peach jam on her toast!

Jillibean Soup's Chile Paste paper was the perfect choice for this layout! I love the adorable little mason jars with such colorful lids!

I created some layers using the Pink Sugar paper and Seedless Cucumber along with some edge punches and some Cameo cutting for additional detailing.

I cut the mason jar on my Cameo using an image from the Silhouette store.

These colors are just perfect together! I love the bright colrs with the small patterns!

I have more than my fair share of the Jillibean labels. They are perfect for any project. I use them in my Project Life layouts as well as my traditional layouts. They are so versatile for journaling or dates or even just layering.

The title was cut with the Cameo using the Pacifico font. The heart was sprayed with Mr. Huey's Real Red and then Calico Shine. I just love the colors of this layout and how well they coordinate! Again, another great thing about the Jillibean Soup papers. They all coordinate so well, even across the different lines!

Having a Ball

Sharing another layout with you today using the Gossamer Blue September Main Kit. Have I said I love this kit? I think I have but I'll say it again....I love this kit!

This is my 2nd layout using the September Main kit. Again, the colors are so beautiful and the elements so well coordinated.

I first started with a white background and misted using a Crafters Workshop Template. Love how it just added that pop of color! You know I love color!

I love layering different papers and elements....some vellum never hurts! I simply try to find coordinating patterns and colors. Doilies always add a nice feminine touch while adding texture too.

And of course, a cute picture is always great!

Sprinkler Fun

The cooler weather is finally arriving here and we are seeing signs of fall beginning to pop up. But even though summer is gone, we still have lots of summer memories and photos to tell the stories.

I created this layout using some cute pictures of my nieces playing in the sprinklers. I used mostly Jillibean Soup products. I love their beautiful choices of paper. The Soup Staples papers are so easy to coordinate with their other patterns.

The title is actually my own handwriting and cut on my Cameo. And I didn't need a Wacom Tablet to do it. I found an easy tutorial from a member on the message board at Studio Calico.

You can use the app "Skitch" on your iPad. I already had it downloaded so that was a plus!

Just begin a new blank document, write your title or create your design, email it, open the file on your computer and trace on your Cameo. The whole process took me maybe five minutes and it was easy peasy!

Ok, back to the layout!

I love just tacking my title down in a few places so it's not completely flat. Adds some dimension to the page.

I just used the negative space of the title on the left side for a little extra punch! The colors in these papers worked perfectly with my bright yellow background to help convey the warm summer days full of bright sunshine!

2 Looks Good on You

I really meant it when I said I was in *love* with the new Gossamer Blue kit club! Such great coordination of papers and elements. I have already created two layouts and getting ready to start my third!

Thought I'd go ahead and share my first layout with you today.

I thought this photo of my adorable niece went perfectly with the color scheme in this kit. I pulled everything out and it the pieces just started falling together. I cut the heart background and part of the title on my Cameo. Love the extra layering it adds.

When I get going on putting a layout together, I start looking at everything I can grab to add to it. Notice the tissue paper? That's what all the extra elements of the kit came packaged in...wrapped neatly in a twine bow. The color was perfect so I grabbed that and added to give extra texture and layers. I cut out the packaging from the label stickers included (see the tab next to photo, "The Sweetest Thing"). I love finding ways to incorporate some of the beautiful packaging you get now.

I used some edge punches and some distressing to add some depth and volume to my layers.

The tab element was cut from my Cameo as well as part of that title. I mostly cut my elements in white and then mist them to get the color I want. Of course, the Mr. Huey's Shine gives it an extra dazzle!

I'm loving these beautiful Sculpture Flowers from Prima! Perfect colors matching the kit!

My newest love

I have a new love! Shhhh don't tell.....You know I love my monthly kit clubs and I have found a new one that I just had to share about. Gossamer Blue is hot off the presses! The first kit was released in August, which I missed. I did get on for September though! I just received my first kit and uh-maz-ing is all I can say about it!

Just look at how cute the packaging is. Each month has a color scheme which is clearly identified and even included on the label! How cute!

But we all know, even though the packaging is cute, it's what's inside that really counts. Well the contents did not let me down. The colors in this kit are just so beautifully coordinated and the embellishments are just perfect!

I can wait to tear into this kit today and get some layouts done with it. Another cool thing about Gossamer Blue is a fun subscriber perk. When you use your kit to complete and upload four layouts each month to their gallery, after six months, you get a free album! How cool is that?

Gone Fishing * Studio Calico Kit

I am not typically a themed scrapbooker. This layout is not my typical style as far as themed die cuts but when I saw this cute little Nemo looking fish in the Silhouette store, I knew I had to have it for a layout of my niece. She has loved Nemo since she was only about 1 or 2 years old. She has a stuffed Nemo that she has carried since then and she is now 8! Nemo has been around the world!

So I thought it was only fitting that I use him on this layout of her at the Aquarium Restaurant when she came to visit last month.

I used the Studio Calico Summer of "69 kit.

I love the bug-eyes on this little fish! Isn't he cute!

Needless to say, my niece thinks I'm the greatest thing since I could cut Nemo out of paper!

I still tried to keep to my style even though I was using a fun element. I like that challenge.

Of course, loose threads and sewing had to be in there somehow!

The arrow stamps are from the Summer Stamp School class at Studio Calico.

I hope you enjoyed this! I thought it was just a cute fun layout to share! It was worth it to know my niece thinks I'm a hero!

Thought I'd kick off the weekend with another layout from the August Studio Calico main kit, "Summer of '69". Having so much fun with this kit. I'm trying to make myself fully "kill the kit" before the next one gets here. I'm doing a pretty good job so far, even though I got a late start.

This one is just a bit more messy with crackle paint, mist and ink.

I love this picture of my niece that my daughter grabbed one morning. They had just finished covering the patio with sidewalk chalk drawings and she was just sitting and looking at her artwork!

So sweet and serene!
