Bonus Video ~ Altering Wood Veneers

Hello! I have a bonus for you today. Yesterday I shared a layout for our stash dive using wood veneers. I made a bonus video showing some ideas on how you can alter your wood veneers to get more use out of them. Thought I'd just share the video for you and hopefully it will help you get more use out of those wood veneers we're all hoarding!

SNL Saturday Stash Dive ~ Wood Veneers

Hello and happy Saturday! Today's stash dive is all about wood veneers! I have so many wood veneers in my stash and I'm sure you probably to do! Well today we're going to get them out and put them to use!

Here's my layout! I started with some mixed media on my background including misting, texture paste, inking etc. Lots of fun messy stuff! The circular cut files are from The Cut Shoppe

Here you can see I cut the cut files in white and just used some yellow gelatos around the edge. Then backed them with patterned paper.

I recolored some of my wood veneers by inking, painting, misting etc.

Here's the process video for my layout:

SNL Saturday Stash Dive ~ Color

Today's stash dive is all about color. I'm teaming up with CraftinMommaML on You Tube for this stash dive. We thought it would be fun to issue a color challenge for this dive. I love color! We found this mood board and thought it was so beautiful. It makes me long for spring (even though we are still dealing with cold and snow).

So the challenge is to create a layout using things from your stash in these colors.

Here is the layout I created. I used some watercolors, mists and stencils on the background. I went through my stash and found things that I thought would work for this layout.

Here you can see the misting up close using the hexagon stencil.

This cut file is from the Silhouette store. I had it in my stash and pulled it out for this layout. I painted it with acrylic paint to match the color scheme.

The embellishments were from my stash. I tried to find all the colors in the mood board to complete my layout.

And I made this cute bow out of patterned paper to adorn the top of the photo.

I hope you take the challenge and create a layout with this mood board. It was so refreshing to use such spring like colors!

Here's the process video of the layout:

Project Life ~ Week 2

I just completed my week two spread....yes I am behind! Is anyone ever caught up with Project Life that doesn't do it for a job? I don't know....seems like its always so hard to get it updated. But I push on!

Here is the full spread.

For this spread I used the Strawberry kit. It's one of my favorites because of the beautiful colors.
I went for fast and easy to get this week done. I find that when I'm in a push and trying to get caught up, keep it as easy as possible. The kits do that for me since they are already coordinated and cut the right size.

I used my typewriter to do some journaling on one of the cards.

A few embellishments from my Freckled Fawn kits.

Here's the process video for the layout.

Sweet Brooklin - Hip Kit Club

Happy Friday! I'm sharing a layout today that I created using the kit from the February Hip Kit Club. I love the colors in this kit! I created this layout for a challenge to scraplift a layout that was posted on the Hip Kit Facebook forum.

I used a lot of mixed media on this layout. The top part is bright dots of gelatos. The bottom portion is paint.

Of course, I added splatters of ink!

Lots of layers!

I love the elements in this kit. They are so well coordiated and the colors are gorgeous!

I have a process video up for you if you'd like to watch the whole process of how this came together.

National Scrapbooking Day is tomorrow so be sure to check back because I'm taking part in a huge video hop and I'll have a brand new layout to share!

Thanks for stopping by!

SNL Saturday Stash Dive ~ Stamps

Happy Saturday! It's time for the SNL Saturday Stash Dive! Today is all about stamps! I have soooo many stamps but to be honest with you, I don't really use them nearly enough. Well, today that is going to change. I'm using mostly stamps on this layout.

I started by using a big background stamp in polka dots. I used some Dylusions Ink Mist and pressed the stamp into the ink on my worksheet, then stamped the paper.

I used several border stamps to add layers of texture.

Here you can see I used a few stamps to make embellishments. The doily stamps and the circular stamp.

I have several layers of paper under the photo to add dimension.

Again more layers of stamping. I then finished it off with some ink splatters.

I hope this inspires you to get some of your stamps out and put them to use!  If you'd like to see the whole process I have a video for you!

Have a great Saturday!

Project Life ~ Week 1

I have finally been able to start my Project Life album for 2015! I am excited. Even though I'm already late, I'm ok with it because at least I'm getting it started. I will catch up through the year. I don't really worry too much about it because then it becomes a chore or a job. I know that most of the time I will always be behind because life is just busy. I'm ok with that.

Here are some photos of my Week 1 layout:

Merci ~ Dec Hip Kit

Happy Sunday! Hope you're having a fabulous weekend! I wanted to share a layout with you today that I created using the December Hip Kit. I love the softness of this layout. I think the cut files add an airy feeling to it.
This is a photo of my sweet niece, Coco.  The flourish cut file is from the Silhouette shop and the hearts are leftover cuts from a file from The Cut Shoppe that I used on another layout.  I used Ranger Texture Paste and colored it with a bit of mist and used a heart stencil to apply the heart confetti. I colored the hearts with watercolors.

Here you can see the watercolor on the hearts

I love that texture paste! It is such a fun element to add to a page!

I do have a process video for this layout if you'd like to watch!

Thanks and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

"Hooray" ~ Dec Hip Kit

I have a fun colorful layout to share with you today! I love this one! You know me, I love color. For this layout, I'm using the December Hip Kit. The leaf background is a cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

I started with a black cardstock background. Then using acrylic paints, made brushstrokes down the paper in various colors. I love using color on a black background because it just makes it pop! I then layered the cut file over the paint and then built my photo layers and added embellishments.

I just love the look of that colorful paint coming through the leaf background!

And of course, a cute photo never hurts!

I have a process video on this layout if you'd like to watch!

Insta Love Layout

This was for a challenge to create a layout using a grid design. I chose do use a few of my favorite Instagram pics for 2014. Now I have many more favs of course but these were just a few representative of my life and loves.

The grid is a cut file from The Cut Shoppe. I absolutely love the cut files from this Etsy shop! I have many and use them on many layouts.  This file was cut from white cardstock and then I just colored in the white cardstock using watercolors. I backed it with black so the colors would pop and I think they did!

I used the December Hip Kit Club kit. It was full of beautiful papers and embellishments! I am so enjoying my subscription to the Hip Kit Club. Every month is full of amazing products!

Here is the process video for the layout! I hope you enjoy.  I'd love to hear feedback from you! Please feel free to leave a comment.

Have a great day!
