"Jam Session" ~ The Cut Shoppe

Happy Saturday! Welcome back! Today I have a layout up on The Cut Shoppe blog that I'm excited to share with you! I used the brand new released files that just came out last Thursday and they were perfect for my choice of photo!

This is just one of the new sets of cut files posted in the shop. Didn't I tell you they are perfect? I love them and couldn't wait another day to get them on a layout!

Here you can see the guitar file. I enlarged it to take up the full height of the page. It was going to be the main focal point of the layout.

Here's the title using "Jam Session" cut out

And then those stars...I love stars!

I didn't do a lot of other embellishments on this layout because I felt with the guitar being so large it really didn't need anything else. I didn't want to take away from that or make it too busy.  I do have a process video for this layout but it will be a couple of days before I can get it uploaded. I am just getting over three weeks of bronchitis so my voice hasn't been there for narrating! But I'm on the mend and it should be posted to You Tube soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

"Every Picture Has a Story" ~ The Cut Shoppe

Hi everyone! Today I have a layout up on the blog for The Cut Shoppe. It's probably one of my favorites that I've done in a long time. Mainly because of the story behind the photo which is why I thought this cut file was perfect for my layout! The title was the main reason I chose this set of cut files. I wanted to tell the story behind this photo. It's more than just a picture. This is the first time my little grandson brought a "flower" to give to me! He was playing outside in his little kiddie pool and we were just sitting on the patio watching him. He picked this little thing and brought it to me. He was so proud! I had to snap a picture and of course, tell the story behind the picture!

Here are the three cut files I used on this layout:

Here are a few close ups of the layout:

I do have a process video posted if you'd like to watch how the whole layout came together!

You and Me ~ The Cut Shoppe

Hello and happy Sunday! I have a new layout up at The Cut Shoppe today. This actually turned out to be one of my favorites. I used the April Hip Kit also for this layout.
I used the "All Heart Remix" file but I cut it in half instead of using the whole file. I wanted it offset on the layout. I then backed each little heart with patterned paper. I used the Amy Tangerine Rise and Shine 6x6 paper pad.

For the title, I used this collection. Again, such a versatile set! You can cut these over and over and use them for so many projects, layouts and Project Life!

Here are a few close ups of the layout.

Here is the process video if you're interested in watching how it all came together!

"Happy Camper" ~ SNL DT 12 Days of Summer layout

Hi everyone! It has been a little while since I posted. Many of you know that my daughter and her family had to move in with us for a short time while they're house was in repair. They had a major leak in the kitchen which resulted in having to have the entire kitchen redone, from the floors to the cabinets and up! It was crazy. What was supposed to be a two week job grew to nearly a month! My scrap room became a bedroom for my grandson so arranging creative time in between my work schedule, his naps and sleeping, then add in cooking meals and just regular stuff and you have a crazy mess! Anyway...they are gone so hopefully I can get back on schedule here.

Today my layout is for the SNL Design Team's 12 Days of Summer project. Every day you'll see a different summer project, whether layout, home decor or fun idea. Whatever it is it will be summer themed.

I created a layout about some of our fun camping days we used to take when we lived in California. The trailer cut file was perfect for my photos!

I used a lot of bright colors and nearly everything was from my stash.  I cut the files out of white cardstock and recolored with Dylusions Ink Spray. I used Calypso Teal on the trailer and Bubblegum Pink on the "happy" in the title.

Here is the cut file from The Cut Shoppe called "Happy Camper". I absolutely love it! There are some other fun cuts in the set as well.

I also have a process video up for this layout if you're interested in watching how it all came together!

SNL Saturday Stash Dive ~ Spray Mists

Woohoo! It's time again for Saturday Stash Dive. I love using up my stash. This week is all about spray mists! I have plenty. I was excited to use some older mists that I have been hoarding for a few years now. Well, not really hoarding. I just hadn't used them because they tend to get clogged and clump up HOWEVER the colors are absolutely gorgeous and I have always loved them so I pulled them out and used them on todays layout along with some other mists.

I love mists! They are so versatile. You can use them straight for misting with a template, you can smoosh them on with packaging, use them as watercolor or just splatters. They are a go to product on nearly all of my layouts.

Here you can see where I even added it to my texture past before using on a template. The possibilities are endless!

The "happy day" cut file is from The Cut Shoppe. I love those frames!

I just love the layers and layers of splatters and colors colliding!

I do have a process video for this layout if you'd like to watch it come together:

Thanks for stopping by today! Have an awesome weekend!

Ashley, the owner of The Cut Shoppe, has been generous enough to give away a cut file on all the design team members blogs! Isn't that awesome! This is the cut file you can win by leaving a comment here on my blog. The winner will be announced Monday, June 1st. Just be sure to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing.

See these letters? Aren't they just so cool? These are another cut file from The Cut Shoppe called "All Tied Up" Alpha.

Here is a close up of the "Let Them Eat Pie" cut file.

The last cut file I used on this layout is called "Love Letters". The "love this" is one of the files in that set.

A Place for Art and Heart~Art Journaling

I have been bitten by the art journaling bug! I went to Michaels and found this cute art journal by Dylusions. I love that it is more managable for me just starting out. Its about 8"x5".  I first started with the inside cover. I used gesso over the front and added layers of paint. I added a doily and some other embellishments using Ranger Multi Medium which is great for adhering and sealing items.  I added some stamping for the title of my journal. The large alpha stamps are the Alyra alpha stamp set from Studio Calico. The smaller alphas are the inexpensive small wood letter stamps you can find at Michaels or other craft stores.

I have just started but will be sharing more pages as I create them. Things are a bit hectic in my house right now because my daughter, son in law and grandson are all staying with us. They had a huge leak in their home and the whole kitchen area downstairs has to be completely ripped out and redone. Yeah....a big job! So they will be here for a couple of weeks it appears. Creative time has to now be planned around naps and bedtime since my studio is now my grandsons sleeping room! I'm not complaining...I love having them around and they are no problem whatsoever! But it is a little different for these empty nesters who have learned to enjoy and crave their space! So what do we do...make it a party! Hopefully will be able to get some crafting done again soon!

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
