December Daily and JYC

Are you ready???

OR

Whether you participate in Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas or Ali Edwards' December Daily, it's that time! I love both styles. Personally, I think they work great together! I love the aspect of capturing the Christmas season with a day by day account of what went on, however there are sometimes I just want to capture the memories that make me warm and fuzzy inside or things I remember as a kid.

December Daily is more of a daily diary kept throughout the season
and
Journaling Your Christmas includes the daily things but adds in the option of prompts for journaling and reflecting on memories, etc. I like that aspect as well.

For me, this year, I am going to incorporate more of the Journal Your Christmas aspects since this year is different for us. With my daughter's wedding coming up on New Years Eve, our December will be full of wedding prep. But I still want to focus on Christmas. So rather than taking a day by day account of everyday, I'll be adding other things as well.

My album is all ready to go. I used a Prima canvas album, added various papers from all different manufacturers as well as other bits and pieces of supplies I had on hand. I used a lot of pages from vintage children's Christmas books, which I absolutely love! Some of my pages don't have the numbers on them yet. I want to wait until I'm assembling my pages day by day to add the numbers. That will allow me more flexibility on how much I want to do each day. Some days may have more, some less.

I used regular office supply page protectors, cut down to size and stitched on my sewing machine. Some I added pockets to so I could stuff little bits and pieces in them.

I used a lot of transparencies.
I love being able to see through to the page behind!

Same with this lacy paper.....I liked being able to see through it.

This is one of the page protectors I cut and stitched. The right side pocket has the bingo card and there is a pocket on the left just waiting for something to fill it!

This page is actually one of the canvas pages that came with the album.
I simply cut a transparency and stitched it around three sides to create a pocket then added the fringe to it!

Here is another page I created out of a page protector, stitched it to patterned paper and created two pockets.

I'll be sharing more photos of my book in the coming days! Hope you enjoy your December!
