I am in the process of giving my scrap area a complete makeover. I really wanted to do something fun using my bakers twine that I could display in my room. After browsing the craft stores and brainstorming to see what I could come up with, this is what I finally decided on.
My original idea was to completely wrap the letters but as I began the process, I found that it was going to be virtually impossible to get all those corners wrapped without making the rest of it look wonky (is that a word???). So I improvised and made it work this way!
Here's how I started:
Found these bare wood letters and block at Michael's. They were a couple bucks each but I really liked the shape of the letters so I grabbed them.
After spray painting them black, I began wrapping with my bakers twine.
Then I used patterned paper and Mod Podge to cover the block.
(You can see I didn't go with my original plan of the camera papers. Didn't like it so I covered it again with a smaller print paper which I liked much better)
Once everything dried and set, I then just hot glued the letters to the block and added a few extra embellishments. Now I have a decor item for my scrap room that represents a bit of what I do with a product I love....and that is THE TWINERY baker's twine!
Before you go, I want to share some Twinery goodness with one of my blog readers. The Twinery has so generously given me one of their wonderful Ultimate Color Sampler Packs to give away to one of my lucky readers! That's a $25 value!
All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me which one of the beautiful colors of The Twinery bakers twine is your favorite! That's it!
{Winner will be announced Sunday evening right here on my blog. Comments will be open until a winner is posted.
International readers, this is for you too!
Please leave your email in your comment so I can contact you. Winner will have two days to respond and claim your prize and if no response, a new winner will be chosen. One comment per person, please}
Your next stop on the hop is Angelica where you'll find more creative inspiration using The Twinery bakers twine!
Here's the lineup for Thursday, just in case you get lost along the way!
Sheri Twing <<----you're here!
Have fun on the hop! Don't forget to check back Sunday evening to see if you're the winner!
