A special birthday with my girl!

First of all, I have to say, I have the best daughter in the whole world! Now I know you probably feel the same about yours and that's the way you should feel!  But I just feel extremely blessed to have such a wonderful daughter who has grown into such a wonderful young woman. Yes, I'm getting mushy, I know, but sometimes you just have to!  I am loving be a mom to a grown daughter! We have so much fun and have some great talks and just enjoy being together.

Well, last Saturday was my birthday and she had to be in Chicago for her job so she missed out spending my birthday with me. So, since I am off work on Wednesdays, she told me she wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday.  I thought that was so sweet....but she did so much more! We spent the entire day together with little surprises here and there and it was just the best girls day out ever!  So I thought I'd share a bit of it with you since it was so special to me.

So, my daughter is very adventurous and love the social scene so she is always up for trying new places and seeks out the hot spots in the city. She's always telling me, "Mom, you gotta get out of Bellevue" which is the community where we live.  She picked a very trendy place in the Green Hills area of Nashville.

First stop, Firefly Grille

It was very eclectic inside.  Mardi Gras beads hanging from the ceiling,
various birthday and anniversary banners, hanging, Christmas lights
and Christmas decorations! So fun!

The tables were worn but painted with these bright color swirls.

More decorations and pictures of various musicians all around.
(There were some producers from Sony Music at the table behind us
so I got an earful about a lot of the country artists! Very interesting!)

The food was amazing! So flavorful.
Ashley had the Roasted Duck Soup with Lentils (and something else I can't remember!)
So yummy!

I had the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp served over spinach and goat cheese pollenta.
The most amazing thing ever!

My beautiful Princess!!!!
And....because it was my birthday, the waiter said I could have my choice of dessert!
Are you kidding me?
We've been on no carbs for a month!
But today was a special day!
Ok but let's share!
We opted for the lightest choice available which was the Coconut Cake.
Now I don't know if it's just because I haven't had any sugar in over a month but this was the most
amazing cake. So moist, so good.

So, then, while still at lunch, Ashley says, "Oh, I have to go to Mac and get some makeup since we're so close to the mall."  Ok great.
Then we get inside the mall and she says "Surprise! We're going to Brighton to get a birthday charm for your bracelet!"  Ummm....detour!!!  A good detour!
For Mothers Day, she bought me a Brighton bracelet with some charms and the fun part is you can add charms to the bracelet so it's been a fun thing to update our bracelets for fun occasions!

Here's the charm and spacer she bought me for my birthday!
Doesn't it just look so cute added to my bracelet!!!
I love my girl!

Then, we still had to go to Mac! You know, we HAD to....

 Trying the lipsticks....
 Do you like this one???
Mission accomplished!!!

We took a stroll through Charming Charlies.
If you've never been to one, you must find one...quick!
Only every kind of jewelry, purse and accessory you could ever need and one in every color!

And on our way out of the mall, we had to grab a Starbucks for the road!

Thanks Princess for my special birthday celebration with you!
I had a blast!

So, mom's of young little girls, don't be sad about them growing up. It happens no matter what you do so embrace it, enjoy it and I promise, when they grow up, you'll love it just as much, if not even more! They are always your baby girl, just a grown up baby girl!
