Scrap Tiffany Challenge with Magpie Sketch

This week's challenge at Scrap Tiffany is one I love! It's all about creating hybrid projects! I love combining digital aspects with the good ol' paper and scissors. It really opens up a whole new world of options and creativity. There are so many great digital items out right now. And the great thing is, they are reusable! So you get so much for your dollar!

I created my hybrid layout using the August sketch from Magpie Club. Julie Bonner creates the sketches and I love this one! I worked perfect for my hybrid project.
And here is my layout....I wanted to create a layout about the wedding planning we've been up to our eyeballs in! I'm having such a great time with my daughter and I'm trying to capture as much of it as possible!

Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: French Couture, Lily Bee; Tags: Large Month Tags, The Details Tiny Tags, Elle’s Studio; Ribbon: Spare Parts, Paper Studio; Buttons: Jenni Bowlin; Paper Punch: Martha Stewart; Other: Spiral Rose Digi Kit by Laina Lamb at Twopeasinabucket.com; Jazz Blue Glimmer Mist; glass pearls, ATG adhesive, black pen Photoshop Elements; Fonts used: Scriptina, Century Gothic.

I first created my photo collage in Photoshop Elements. It was very simple to create. I wanted it to be 8x8 size so that is how big I made my document. I then turned on the option to view grids, which allowed me to even place my 2x2 photos around the outside perimeter. I then used the center 4x4 for some journaling and the title. I wanted the journaling to appear a bit hidden behind the title, so you really have to look at it to read it. I sent it to print, then started my page!

Of course, I added some Elle's Studio tags!

And these spiral flowers were created by using this digi kit. I downloaded the kit and used my Cricut to cut the spirals. I actually used my Sure Cuts A Lot software to cut them out (even though the information says it doesn't work in Sure Cuts a Lot). I found a way around it thanks to this video. Now this file didn't come in a pdf so I first had to convert it to a pdf file, then I followed the instructions on the video. And it worked! So, if you're interested in the Spiral Flowers kit, please know that I'm not guaranteeing this to work for you. I stumbled my way around it because I had already bought the file and thankfully it worked for me!

So there you have it! My take on this week's challenge creating a hybrid project! Head over to Scrap Tiffany and check out the other designers work for some great inspiration!

Happy Tuesday!
