Can you tell what I've been doing? I love yo-yo's. I have always loved the look of yo-yo's used on layouts and projects but I never knew how or learned how to make them. Everyone kept saying they were so easy but anything that involves a needle and thread??? Not so easy for me! I mean, I have a hard time sewing buttons on my husband's shirts! That is until I started this fabulous class at Get It Scrapped!
I have to be honest! Just the picture alone made me want to take this class...just look at those bright colors and fun embellishments! I finally learned how to make yo-yo's! So that was what I was doing while watching my DVR of American Idol! Yes, hubby looked at me a little strange when I sat down with my circles of fabric, a needle and thread! My daughter just shook her head and said, "Mom....uh no" as if to say 'save yourself!'. However, when all is said and done, I had this beautiful stash of bright colorful yo-yo's that are now positioned on my scrap table in a cute little bin, ready to be used on any layout! And now I'm addicted! I can't seem to stop making these little things! However, today is a new lesson! Now we're moving on to felt! Yikes, there goes the housework!
Have a great weekend and don't forget to come back on Monday for this week's ScrapTiffany challenge....I can't wait to show you what I'm working on!

Love all the bright colors! Can't wait to see what you make with felt!!

Oh, man. When I read yo-yo, I thought you meant the kind in the Toy Department ... with the loop at the end of a long string!
ReplyDeleteShows you I'm always learning something around you! The yo-yos you made are darling! Awesome that you handcrafted them yourself. Great job, girl!
Are you crazy?? A needle and thread?? Oh my!! Something bad is happening!!! haha!!
ReplyDeleteIm just kidding...your yo-yo's are beautiful..I have to say, I may have agreed with Ash if I hadn't seen it myself. lol!!
I am impressed. Now you just have to get started on that gingham dress.
