Like everyone else, I have to say I love my iPhone! The one thing that was a little disappointing to me was the camera features. I just didn't care for the pictures that I was getting from them. Of course, I guess it's not really fair of me to compare them to my Canon 50D photos! Definitely apples and oranges. However, the iPhone on the camera was decent enough that if I need to snap a picture of something in a store or a quick photo where I didn't have my big monstrous camera, it worked fine.
THEN.....I searched the iPhone's photo apps! Heaven! Now it's still not even close to comparing to the Canon's photos but hey, it's not meant to take pictures like that. These are just quick photos that I can have fun with and capture something that I might have missed otherwise, and for that, I'm grateful!
So since I don't want to miss one picture, I have been using my iPhone camera much more. I don't really care that it's not the perfect quality. What I do care is that I snagged that one picture that I would have missed otherwise.
Ok, back to the iPhone app (sorry, I took a bunny trail...). I found the app called CameraBag. I decided to purchase it and play with it a little. It's only $1.99 but it's loads of fun! It will take any picture, either a new picture or one already on your phone, and apply different actions to it. So the other day we were out and it was snowing and so pretty, I had hubby pull over so I could snap a picture. Then I started playing with the different looks you can get out of CameraBag. I thought I'd share them with you so that you could see what you can do with it.

This photo is my original photo. Not the best I know, it was a dark snowy day but it works great for my comparison shots._________________________________________
This one is my personal favorite! I love the dark vignetting around the edges of the photo.__________________________________________
This one is called, obviously, "1962". It has an older black and white feel to it._______________________________________________________

And this one called, "1974", reminds me of looking at old pictures we have when I was a kid. A very, very young baby! (LOL, yeah right). Seriously, we have pictures of our family that look just like this!

Following are a few more examples of what CameraBag does for your photos. They're all different and some very artistic looking.

I keep seeing an artistic layout using some of the features on photos using Camerabag. I love the looks of some of them and just think it would be fun to play around with.
So if you're really picky about your pictures like me, you might want to just step out of your box of photo perfection and play with your iPhone camera a little. I think it can get you some really cool shots! I know I am.
Have a great week!

Wow!! How fun is that app..I love some of those options.
ReplyDeleteI don't have an iPhone, so I guess I can't play along on this one.
Wow! I would never have imagined an app like this! So cool that you can play with your pictures from your phone. (My personal fave is the Helga action that mimics the old Holga cameras). Have fun!
