Magpie Club Layout

I squeezed out another layout from the April Magpie Club kit. I love this kit. The colors were so pretty and everything was related to spring. I created this layout using a picture of my beautiful new niece getting lots of love!

Just love the cute little stickers and bits and baubles that came with the kit.

And this stamped envelope and the tag were one of my favorites!

The green strip along the bottom is a strip of fabric that came in the kit. I just sewed it on in a grunge ribbon effect.

Yesterday was wedding planning mode! The Princess and I met with the planners for the venue we are using. She is getting married right in the heart of downtown Nashville! Did I tell you on New Years Eve??? Anyway, The Market Street Emporium building is another one of their venues which is also located in downtown Nashville, which is where one of their offices are located as well. So we met to talk specifics about menus, lighting, draping, detail after detail!

I was rather disappointed in myself because I still cannot believe I left the house without my camera. So we are photo-deprived of the day....all we had was Ashley's point and shoot camera! We did manage to get a few. Sorry, but I will do better next time!

Then we grabbed a bite of lunch and headed to the bridal shop where Ashley works. Since she works at a bridal store, she knows all the designs and what's out there so we didn't have the whole "Say Yes to the Dress" experience. She just said "I know the one I want and this is it!" as she showed us in the catalog. She's had the dress picked out for some time. But we did stop by the shop to look at a veil she wants. She hadn't decided on that yet, but of course, seeing all the different veils come into the store, she found one she decided on. So she tried it on and I have to say, it was beautiful and I thought I might have had a hint of moisture in my eye.....but, nah, it was just my contact moving around! I have to admit, I am not much of a crier. It's not very often that something moves me to tears....she calls me a dried up well! I am happy my daughter is getting married! I did get some pictures in the bridal shop but I didn't want to share those because we don't want to give away any special secrets of the brides attire until that day!

Then we took a mosey on over to the "Mother of the Bride" section. Yeah, not so excited about that. I've been bucking that whole thing because most of those dresses........how do I say it.....are.....ugly and look like my grandmother should be wearing them! Sorry. Not that I don't want to dress up in formal attire or wear a long gown but really, all the ones I had seen I would not want to be caught dead in!

Well, she assured me that they are not like that anymore. So we took a peek and she was right. There were some that were still like that, but most of them were quite beautiful....now to just work on getting a body that I would want to put into one of them....that is another story! LOL
