"In Color" Challenge

I love Mondays because it means the new ScrapTiffany challenge is posted! This weeks challenge is to create a layout based on the song " In Color" by Jamey Johnson. The song has some great lyrics and when I was reading them I knew I had to select just the right photos for my layout.

I was trying to think of photos that would reflect a time where I would need to share that with the kids in our family, maybe a time they did not get the opportunity to experience. The first person that came to my mind was my Grandpa. He passed away about 19 years ago. My daughter was only about a year and a half, so she knew him then and loved him dearly as he did her. But of course, being still a baby, she didn't get the opportunity to experience what a wonderful man he was. My thoughts in creating this page was capturing who Grandpa was so that our kids could see him and get to know a little more about him.

He was a quiet man and was very private in showing his affections, even though he always showed you he loved you. The one picture of him and my Grandma that I used is my all-time favorite picture of them. My Grandpa was goofing around with Grandma and giving her a bad time and he grabbed her and hugged her from behind. While it may not be the best photo it is my favorite because it shows a side of him that you just don't find in many pictures.

I really enjoyed this challenge because it gave me an opportunity to reflect on a time in my childhood and early adult years that were very precious and hold great memories. I want to be able for our kids to experience that through the stories we share!

Go to ScrapTiffany and check out all the layouts. The design team really did an awesome job as well as Tiffany's own layout! You'll also meet our Guest Designer for this month,
Ria Mojica. She's from the Philippines! And remember, you can be a part of the fun! After you complete your layout, email it to Tiffany and you'll be entered in the drawing for a free monthly kit! How great is that?
