Here are my paper scraps I started with.....
Then I wanted some one of my papers to be a large shape. I wanted a large scallop and a large heart but I didn't have anything like that so I just made my own! I do this a lot when I need a certain size of a shape. Now I don't have a Cricut (not yet anyway....hint) so I do it the hard way!
I start in Photoshop Elements and open a blank file, find my shape in using the shape tool, resize it to make it as large as I want, then simply print on cardstock. Then I cut out the shape and use it as a template. I know it's the oldschool way but it works for me! I have quite a few different templates that I have done this way and I save them to use again and again!
And on this layout, I wanted to use a large "2" in the title. Of course, I couldn't find anything in my stash that was large enough, so again, I just made my own! Using the same steps as above, I printed out a "2" as big as I wanted it, cut it out, traced it onto my green polka-dot scrap paper and there is my large "2"!
(The fact that I printed it out in green has nothing to do with anything other than that was the color selection in the Photoshop palette at the time I printed it!)

I love this layout Sheri. I like how you used a little zebra print that matches her coat. Very cute!!! I would never believe this was from scraps if you hadn't told us. I might play along with the challenge..I have plenty of scraps I need to use up!!
ReplyDeleteHow clever of you! If I met you before my Cricut you could have saved me some $$! But I only have the smaller one so this method would be perfect for the bigger sizes!!
ReplyDeleteYour layout is sooo beautiful...love all the details in your work...you have be so blessed with your talents!
