It's A Date!

As you know, we celebrated our anniversary on Sunday! We had such a great day. We received a big surprise! Sunday morning, our daughter, Ashley told us that her and Travis wanted to take us out to dinner for our anniversary that evening. We kept saying, "No you don't have to do that" but she insisted and told us what time to be ready. I kept bugging her about what she was up to. It's kind of a thing she knows about me, and that is that I LOVE to be in the middle of everything. I can't stand not knowing what's going on. She kept telling me to just not worry about and keep my nose out of things! LOL.

Later that evening we were all getting ready to go to dinner. As Rick and I stepped out the door, there was a group of very special people in our lives who happened to be hiding and jumped out yelling "Surprise! Happy Anniversary!" Well, I just about jumped out of my skin and screamed, of course! Thank goodness there was no video. My daughter proceeded to tell us that they had arranged for us to have a special anniversary dinner at the Melting Pot in downtown Nashville. I got excited because I thought they were all coming with us! Not that I don't like to spend time with hubby because I do! We just like to spend time with people we love just as much! No, they were doing this just for us. Ashley said her and Travis were even going to chauffeur us because it was pouring rain and then we wouldn't have to fight parking and walking downtown! Now that's weird, having your daughter and future son in law driving you on a date night! LOL. Circle of life, right?

Anyway, we went and we had the best time. If you ever go to the Melting Pot, just make sure you plan at least two hours just for your meal! It was quite the experience. They had arranged for us to dine in the "Love Shack" area. It was an area of private booths for two. Very quiet and secluded from the rest of the restaurant. It was great. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was even better!

So to those special people (you know who you are), thank you so much for such a wonderful anniversary gift! And thank you to our Princess, you always make everything fun! You and Travis rock as chauffeurs!

  2. Oh yes. Jon and I did the same thing for our anniversary. I agree a couple of hours for dinner and the melting pot knows what their doing with that whole private booth thing. Jon and I had the best conversations.

    Good times indeed!
