Journaling Class

I love journaling! I love capturing the stories behind the photos. Photos are priceless to me but when I look at them, I know there is a story behind them. Last week we were able to visit my husbands great-aunt (when I was twittering about going to the boonies with no cell service....yeah, that was the trip). She is 81 years old and he hasn't seen her in several years so he had asked his parents to go with us to see her.

We really had a great time. Though she lives back in the woods in the boonies, it was beautiful. She lives in an old farmhouse with horses in the pasture and woods all around. Anyway, I'm getting off track here.....she gave us a huge stack of old photographs from my husbands side of the family. Old pictures of his great grandparents, some of him when he was a baby, some of him with his parents and grandparents, and just a bunch of priceless photos that we probably never would have obtained had we not visited her.

My point is that when I look at those photos, I wonder "What is the story here?" What was going on at the time this photo was taken? Whose house is in the background? Why are they dressed that way? There is a story behind every photograph. And that's why I feel journaling is every bit as important as the photo itself.

I'm so excited about an upcoming journaling class that is being offered at Elle's Studio. Three week class featuring 12 awesome scrapbook designers helping us learn how to tell our stories. And guess what? ITS FREE! Yes, it is! Can you believe that?
There's a great line up of designers Elle has lined up for this class. You must go over and check out the class and mark your calendar. I can't wait for it to start! It begins August 8th!

Have a great weekend!

P.S. You don't have to register or sign up for the class. Just check the blog daily for the class information.
