This week's challenge is posted at ScrapTiffany. The challenge is to scrap a layout or project about your favorite recipe. Well for me that was easy! Mom's Red Velvet Cake. It has been my favorite since I was a child. I remember getting to enjoy it on special occasions. Then she eventually started making me one every year for my birthday because she knew it was my favorite.
I've seen a lot of Red Velvet cake recipes out there and tasted quite a few but I have yet to find one that is the same as Mom's recipe. It takes a little bit more work but it is soooo worth it. When I told her I was doing my layout this week about her Red Velvet Cake, I told her I was going to share the recipe on my layout. Well, she freaked out! (Can I say that???) This has been a coveted recipe of hers for years and years and the thought of me sharing it on my blog , well, was just unthinkable! I just laughed and she knew then I got her! I wasn't going to share it but her reaction was just what I was looking for! I mean it's not like we live in the information age and can find anything you want online (*wink).
Go to the ScrapTiffany site and check out the other designers layouts. There's some great ones there and recipes too! Don't forget! This Wednesday is the deadline for your submissions for the ScrapTiffany Design Team. You can find the info here. Don't think about it....just do it! It's so much fun and you'll love Tiffany!
Ok, now I'm off to spend the day shopping with my girls....my daughter Ashley and my niece Samantha, who is visiting from California! Lord help my wallet!
