This week's challenge is posted at ScrapTiffany. The challenge this week is to do something out of your box, something that gets you out of your comfort zone. It could be doodling, stamping, painting or anything! Well, I'm pretty cool with all those things.
One thing that is totally out of the box for me though is the more clean and simple look. As you can tell from my other layouts, I usually fill the page with all the yummy goodness I can find! From mists to paints, from grunge to bling, from cardboard to flowers....the more on the page the better! Well, I knew immediately what my "out of the box" layout would need to be. A minimal page. Now, I've seen a lot of scrapbookers with this style and I love their layouts! It just never comes to me when I get ready to start a page.
So, here you go.....my less is more page! I can't tell you how hard this was for me! LOL, I seriously had to stop myself from putting more on. But I can tell you, I was actually pretty pleased with how it turned out. I might try this style more often!

I do have to tell you I scraplifted this layout from here. When I saw Shimelle's layout, I knew it was one that I wanted to use for this challenge.
I have to tell you the story behind my layout because it's just so cute. My 5 year old niece, Brooklin, decided to get all of her Mr and Mrs Potato Heads together and create one for everyone in her family. Then, when they were gone or out of their rooms, she snuck in and placed them by their beds. I'm so glad my sister thought quick enough to take pictures. We're still trying to find out why she left out her brother, Kameron! Anyway, I thought it was so cute I had to do a layout about it!So,getting back to the challenge, go to ScrapTiffany and check out the other designer layouts. Then you complete your layout and email it to Tiffany for a chance to be the Guest Designer for December.
Also, just a reminder, Tiffany is accepting submissions for her next design team! If you have ever thought about trying a design team, please don't wait! Get your submission in! You will love working with Tiffany! Go check it out here!
Have a great day!

Very cute LO!! I loved watching Brooklin sneak from room to room quietly and very carefully placing each family members Potato head next to their beds. She was really tiptoeing.
ReplyDeleteEach one she created in some way represented each person. She really thought it thru.
Kameron did have one on his dresser, but what we can't figure out is where it went. I think he got embarrassed and put it away.
Great LO and post. I like the clean lines/space for a change.
T!!
So for this challenge we traded places lol! You do clean and simple a lot better than I do artsy and misted :)
ReplyDeleteawwww love this and the story what a precios memory!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this!
