Rock Star

This week's challenge is posted at ScrapTiffany. One of our designers, Kim Holmes, came up with this great sketch. The challenge is to create a layout using her sketch. I love using sketches! I takes the thought out of having to come up with the design and you can just flow with what you want to put on the page! I had fun using it.

Here's my version using the sketch. This is a picture of my nephew, Kameron, on a dress up school day. He obviously was in character that day! He loved it. Given the theme of his photo, I went a little crazy with colors and got a little messy! Paint is always good! Glimmer mist helps too!

For the "Rock" lettering, I used some plain black Thickers but of course had to add some bling for my layout. I just covered them with some glue and sprinkled Martha Stewart's glitter over the top. When they were dry, I sprayed them lightly with a sealer. I don't believe you'd have to use a sealer but I just wanted to make sure the glitter stayed in place.

Go to ScrapTiffany and take a look at the other designers' layouts. Some followed to the exact detail and others put their own interpretation on it. I love that!
